MAILE O'KEEFE

 - U.S. NATIONAL TEAM ELITE GYMNAST

 

Maile O’Keefe (age 15), is currently a gymnast at Salcianu Elite. Maile is also a member of the US National Team and has been the only Elite gymnast in the State of Nevada since 2013; when at the age of 11 she became the youngest Elite in Nevada and one of the youngest in the US.

 

Maile O'Keefe of Salcianu Elite won her first junior national all-around title at the 2016 P&G Championships. O'Keefe took the title with a 115.050 combined two-day all-around total after notching an impressive 58.0 on day two. Maile placed 1st in All Around, as well as 1st on Balance Beam and 1st on Floor, remaining a model of consistency throughout the competition.

 

To start her 2017 Season, Maile competed at the 2017 International Gymnix Junior Competition where she placed first all around. Maile also took home the gold medal on floor, the silver medal on vault, and the bronze medal on beam in event finals. Her second meet of the season was at the City of Jesolo Trophy. Maile had another great meet placing second in the all around as well as helping Team USA take home the gold. In event finals, Maile took home the bronze medal on bars and beam, and the silver on floor.

Maile began her Summer 2017 elite season at the US Classic where she took home the silver medals on vault, floor and in the all around. Following the US Classic, Maile competed at the P&G Championships, a two-day competition where Maile aimed to repeat her Junior National Title. After two days of hit competition, Maile did just that winning the all around title by two points and winning the bars title. Maile was added to the US Junior National Team for the second year, and was selected to compete at the Junior Japan International in September 2017.

Maile and coaches headed to Yokohama, Japan for the 2017 Junior Japan International Competition which took place on September 17-18. On the first day of competition, Maile took home the all around gold and qualified to all four event finals. On the second day of competition, event finals, Maile took home the silver on vault, bars, and floor and a gold on beam.

The Japan Junior International Competition concluded Maile's elite career as a junior international elite. Next year, Maile will be a senior international elite where she will have the opportunity to try to represent Team USA at the World Championships.

In February 2018, Maile was chosen to compete at the 2018 American Cup - her senior debut. At the American Cup, Maile finished third AA and tied for first on vault.
