If my child misses a class, can I schedule a make-up class?

 

Each child receives 1 FREE makeup per session per class, and must be made up within the missed session. After your 1 makeup, you may purchase a makeup or an extra class for $20 at any time. Make-up and extra classes are subject to availability, and you must be currently enrolled to schedule a make-up or an extra class. This policy is subject to further restrictions and changes.

 

 

Do you have open enrollment?

 

Yes we do. You may enroll your child at any time throughout the year. You pay for a prorated tuition based on your date of enrollment. Our sessions are based off of 4 week intervals.

 

 

How many classes can my child attend a week?

 

A child may enroll in as many classes as you wish. We offer most our classes every day of the week; Monday - Saturday. You are able to enroll in anywhere from 1 to 7 classes a week.

 

 

I think my child is ready to move up, can I schedule an evaluation?

 

Please wait for the coach to tell you your child is ready to be evaluated. Evaluations cannot be scheduled without permission from their coach.

 

 

What age does my child have to be to attend Parent’s Night Out or Open Gym?

 

Your child must be 5 years or older, as well as potty trained to attend either Parents’ Night Out or Open Gym. 

 

 

What should I expect on the day of my child’s free trial class?

 

You’ll need to arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of your child’s class. You will need to check in at the front desk, where you will fill out a waiver and your child will receive a name tag. Then, an Academy Staff Member will direct you on where to go from there. Socks, shoes and other belongings can be stored in the cubbies.

 

 

Do you offer private lessons?

 

Yes. Private lessons and semi-private lessons are available. Please contact the gym to book these.

 

 

Do you have a competitive team?

 

Yes and it’s easy to join! Once your child completes the necessary requirements needed she/he will be given the option to join our competitive program.

 

 

What should my child wear for class?

 

Boys or girls may wear tucked in t-shirts and shorts or leotards for girls. Hair should be pulled neatly and securely away from the face so that it stays up for the entire workout. Girls should not wear bows or other large hair ornaments that may cause discomfort during activity. All students should be barefoot while in class. No chewing gum or jewelry are allowed. Personal items should be left in cubby holes. The Academy of Gymnastics will not be responsible for any items that may be lost or stolen. Be sure your child’s personal items are marked with their name.

 

 

How do I know what level my child is?

 

Almost all children will begin at level 1 if they are new to gymnastics. However, our mission at The Academy is to provide the best gymnastics to every child at their level. If your child has had previous gymnastics or tumbling experience you may schedule a free placement evaluation.

If I need to drop a class, can you hold my spot until next month?

 

Unfortunately, we cannot hold your spot. You will need to inform the front office and process a Drop Request. When you are ready to re-enroll, you can do this anytime prior to the day want to return. You will not have to repay your membership fee when you return if it is still in your one year membership term.

 

 

What is your drop policy?

 

Members wishing to drop from gymnastics classes must notify The Academy of Gymnastics office prior to the beginning of a new session. Once we have drafted tuition, NO REFUNDS will be issued.  (Please note that no over the phone, email, or voicemail drop requests will be honored.)

 

 

Does The Academy charge an enrollment fee?

 

We do not charge an enrollment fee, but there is an annual membership fee that is $60 a year. This is required only for monthy classes and can be used to receive discounts on open gym and other events. This is a annual fee and is non-refundable. It is good for one year, even if you were to place your account on hold and return within the one year.

 

 

When is tuition due?

 

Session tuition is due by the last day before a new session begins (sessions run 4 weeks long, please review our session schedule to see due dates)

 

 

Does The Academy charge late fees?

 

There is a $15 late fee if tuiton is paid after the due date. This $15 late fee can be waived and avoided by signing up for autopay

 

 

What happens if I fail to pay tuition?

 

All students with an unpaid balance as of the last day of the first week in the session, will be removed from the class roll, and another student may fill the spot in the class. A $25 fee is charged on all returned checks. *Autopay customers with a declined payment are subject to a late fee.

 

 

If I enroll more than one child, do I get a discount?

 

Yes. There will be a 10% sibling discount will be applied for each additional child per session.

 

 

If the gym is closed to host a gymnastics meet or for a holiday, will we receive a free Make-up class?

 

Yes, if the gym in closed for a gymnastics meet or a holdiday within the session schedule, you may book an extra class without using your makeup classes, upon class availability.

 

 

Are your teachers qualified?

 

Yes, all our coaches are qualified and have gone through training to be a certified instructor. Many have had years of experiance doing the sport themselves and most our coaches are also USAG and Safety Certified.

 

 

Can parents watch?

 

Yes, we have a parents observation area for both our preschool gym and our large recreational/competitive gym. Both viewing areas are behind a mirror, which the parents are able to view their without distracting them.

 

 

What is your ratio of children to coaches?

 

We have an average ratio of 8 children per one coach. This ratio may vary according to the class type, leve, instructor, day, and time the class is offered.
